Joey English - iTunes

bio

“There are deserts to cross and cornfields to get lost in,” sings Joey English along his odyssey through the crooked streets of the great smoky foothills. His wandering voice croons like a ghostly hymn along the Plateau’s easterly corner. It’s as new and fresh as it is old and rooted. Since the release of his self-titled album in early 2009, English has garnered a small yet devoted applause here in Knoxville. His affection for "volk," for music of the people, leaves him eager to make a bigger noise – eager to share his searching spirit with folks of all gene pools. And in response to desert crossing and cornfield rambling – English sings, “I don’t know how to explain this to you / other than it being somethin’ I just really gotta do.”
